|Back | New Heat Pipe Based Concept for Lagoon Oil Treatment

The first step in slop oil (oil from lagoons) treatment is preheating it in order
to permit pumping to the processing system. At the moment the slop oil preheating
is realized by injecting steam into oil lagoon. An important disadvantage
of steam injection is the impossibility to recover the condensate. At the same time
the condensate added into slop oil puts an extra charge on the dewatering system.

The heat pipe based concept allows preheating the slop oil locally only and pumping
is possible without preheating large volumes of the lagoon.

More details soon.
